Lesson Learned by Chris Sorrenti
Didn’t they ever tell you?
Shouldn’t put Poetry
In places it should never be
Not everyone appreciates or respects
Let alone understand
The beauty of a few simple words
Not everyone is devoted as you are
To the artistic cause
That they’ll take your words
Turn them against you
And probably when you least expect it
If you want to rock the boat
Then go all the way next time
Plant your seeds
In the soil of the World
Let them multiply and divide
Like atoms splitting
In the heat of nuclear reaction
And never forget
A high school locker
Only leads to a dead end
...Or does it now?
