we’ve come so far
on this
short journey
together
learned
and grown
but above all
evolved

sometimes
smooth sailing
other times
choppy waters
both wise enough
to accept
no voyage
completely free
of stormy seas

but when we waltzed
last night
I realized
no force of planet
can separate us
except ourselves
and in this
our union’s
firmly planted
on spiritual
terra firma
as long as
we share
take turns
in leading

so let us dance
on and on
as if time
has no meaning
beyond
any mischief
or mayhem
that might
divide us again

as though
every song
has no ending
and love itself
as ethereal
band leader
keeps tabs
and rhythm
adjusts our steps
for the songs
ahead
