From early childhood
That favorite toy’s been close by
When times are happy
Life is sad
That favorite toy keeps you amused
Makes the world seem alright

Ever since the day
It first revealed itself
The marvel and the mystery
At how it’ll never break
No matter how much it’s been used

And that over the years
You’ve learned its true meaning
Sharing it with others
When the persons and conditions right
Just as some are willing to share
Their favorite toys with you
