Such is the Way of Life

by Chris Sorrenti

Isn’t it exciting?
Oh so very fine!
Living our lives like the birds in the trees
On the loose in the poetry system
And everything we choose to say
No matter what we do
Composed of verses unique ourselves
Words of energy
Inscribed on the pages of the world
Each given a very special meaning

Oh isn’t it a challenge?
Not to burst out laughing!
Having been so very lucky
Written into this book of life
And soon will be the final chapter
When spreading wings into the wind
We leave our parents' nest
This mortal coil behind
Preparing for a special migration
To an eternally sunny clime

I am closer to that migration than many and it is not easy to say how I will miss all the connections I will miss. For with out connections futile or not it is what makes life worth while!
