Interpolation by V. Blakei will trade you heart for heart
to strip this bare of all discretion.
for we are lashed,
as a matter of course,
down to a perfect grind
by uncommon grounds--
trod lightly, but so often
as to be trampled all the same.
our two heads bowed and
pale from the letting;
with veins as thread
to tell a truth. 04/20/2018 Posted on 04/20/2018 Copyright © 2025 V. Blake

Posted by Glenn Currier on 05/16/18 at 12:35 PM That first line is brilliant and could in itself be a poem. I can learn a lot from your work, brevity being the chief among the lessons. The tropes you use take me out of my literal tendencies and transport me into the realm of art. Thanks so much. I want to read more of your work, to revisit your library. |
