And Tomorrow Is Another Day

by Chris Sorrenti

Only so much coffee you can drink
to get started in the morning
so much radio to listen to
while planning your day

While throughout
only so much breakfast lunch and supper
you can eat
while clocking the hours
before getting tired of the same food
and then maybe trying something new

Only so much time in the afternoon
to exercise or do hobbies
before reaching your saturation point

And afterwards
only so much napping you can take
before your batteries are fully recharged
and it’s time to move on to other things

Only so many walks or drives
at any time of the day
to go visiting exploring
before you’ve had enough
and looking forward to be back home

And then only so much Net surfing
Facebooking and/or Tweeting
in-between all the other things
mentioned above

And in this
only so many family and friends
you can make conversation with
until all of you are up to date

While later on in the evening
only so much TV...News
you can take in before saying
to yourself you’ve had enough

And when all’s said and done
finally only so many ways
to climb into bed
upon realizing you’ve come full circle
and that tomorrow is another day
