Didn’t I say it all
With the voice in my eyes
No more disguises to confuse
One-time adversaries
Just you and me alone
In a room full of people
Actors in their own right
Watching our every move
But no one else really mattered

Didn’t I tell you
Those three magic words
With the poetry of actions
Even if they could only lead
To friendship now
Still all in all
Meaning the same thing

Didn’t I speak the truth
All those years ago
Promises of the future
That would finally blossom
Into wisdom
As each day gone by
The chemistry between us
Seeming only
To have grown stronger
In a silent language
That leaves nothing to be said
Except good luck
And best wishes for the future
