Twilight

by Richard Vince

She walks the long way home
From work, savouring each
Extra step, feeling every
Pavement crack and hidden
Tree root through the
Flat soles of her shoes.

Every moment is a secret
The evening shares only
With her, caressing her senses,
Singing her silent lullabies
As the stars emerge from
The shadow of the Sun.

Really an engaging piece, such a simple thing yet evoking a sense of contentment that is quite remarkable.
