WELCOME TO VIETNAM by W. Mahlon PurdinJust another day for America
A new assault massacre.
59 dead, 527+ injured,
In a high-ground slaughter.
Fully-automatic weapons firing over
And over fast as the magazines
Could be changed. People in panic.
Everyone running, some bleeding to death,
Some dead from the maliced aim.
Like shooting fish in a barrel.
It was just another day,
Welcome to Vietnam.
The people who caused it,
Walked to the podiums exhaling
Sympathy and empathy,
And pointing everyone
In every direction anywhere
Away from them.
It was just another day,
Welcome to Vietnam.

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 10/04/17 at 03:50 PM Powerful stuff. I suspect there is plenty of blame to spread around in this present society and we pretend that those "at the top" are there to do something. Impotence of thought and action abounds. Thanks for a thought provoking piece. |
