Day 12 - Pacifist

by Karen Michelle

There are two types
of people in this world -
those who will
fight fiercely
and those who will
surrender silently.

I am both,
on any given day,
but when the writing
is on the wall
(such as it is now)
I would rather
accept my fate peacefully
than fight a losing battle.

It does not mean
that I do not find all of this
a bitter pill to swallow,
nor that I am not
surprised to find myself here.

It is
and I am.

But such is life,
as the old adage goes.
And nothing lasts forever.
Not even us.

Great perspective...capture. Found myself easily relating to this. Personally, I would probably fight until I knew it was fruitless. As always, other opportunities for escape will arise.

I love this. Not sure what else to say.
