Glacier sprinkled blueberries

by April Stale

Gold flakes blaze
A forest green sea

Shiny glaciers sprinkle
A ripened blueberry

Catch a glimpse
Hold your breath

My heart will surely explode
If the two meet

Will it be when

The chilly air
Carries cinnamon scent
And lemon flavored leaves cover the cement

When the blanket
Encircles your toes
And the lavender mint tea warms your nose

When the ceaseless rain
Taps the window
And you sink your head into a feather pillow

Will it be today?
What are the chances?

Give me another chip, I have a pocketful
The wheel spins, my pulse speeds up

I glance down
Breathe deep
Hold it...

I look up
