You pounced into our lives
Completely unexpected
A gift from a friend
Turned house and home
Upside down and sideways
As only a male kitten could

After more than a few transgressions
Planned trip to the pound
And we could tell that you knew
It was time to move on
Then as quickly as you came
You were also gone
Escaped into the night
From a fenced in back yard

We miss you Morty
It’s really too bad that it didn’t work out
