The Arrival

by Scott Cadence

What if you could.
What if there was time.
What would you say.
How would it feel.
To acknowledge the pain.
To close our eyes, and allow the truth to rush upon us,
with all we have all been hiding.
To disarm us, of the faces we have learned to show.
To understand the disease, is also the cure.
To be scared, yet at peace with the lesson.
To be empty, but also full.
Invite every moment to consume us, so we can consume it.
Life, is so painfully beautiful.
Our heartbreak reminds us, at the very least,
that we have heart.
That love,
has taught us what it means
to live.

Your poem speaks truth. It is also comforting to read.
