Mammal by Chris Sorrenti
Lie low little bohemian
under cooling precipice
yellow fern
for there are many dinosaurs still about
though staggering
Soon
they lay their bones down
to petrify in ice polluted swamp and field
where once
played...made love
laughing at those lesser than them
Take heed little one
for Evolution once more reinvents itself
your children multiplied
to look back
at this Age of Reptiles
and laugh
their bones already catalogued
in an intelligent roach’s museum
