Song Of The Tickler

by Chris Sorrenti

What is this hunger that roars from inside me?
thirst unquenchable, extraordinaire
from childhood it has raised me
as no parent ever could
hysterical laughter, liquid fire
a bond that will never let go

From across the ocean, she cries to me for feeding
dominance and submission in a symbiotic role
soon my love, we’ll be together
feeding each other that fruit
so sweet, unspeakable

And then, only then can we inhale that perfect logic
laugh at the ignorant never to know
vampires do exist
and just as God has created the butterfly
so too we feather born spiders
