Soap Tears

by Chris Sorrenti

Mike is married to Sue, who's sleeping with David, Mike's best friend and
president of a major textiles company. His sister, Joan is blackmailing Bill,
David's stepfather, with some nude photos, but is herself carrying on
a lesbian affair with Terri, a down and out waitress who just inherited
a huge fortune in oil stocks from a cancer stricken aunt, twice removed.

Mike's sister, Gwen, is good friends with James, a prominant state politician
who's made a career dodging confict of interest guidelines.
That however is only the beginning, as James has also taken kickbacks
from Angelo Clamenza, a local Mafia leutenant. Clamenza is selling cocaine
to Bill, who as yet knows nothing about the goings on between Joan and Terri,
but is aware of his son's affair with Sue.

The police are watching David, thinking the company is a front for
the drug business, when in fact, the culprit is Dave’s brother, Mark, a middle man
for the crime family. The police are also hoping to discover who murdered Kate,
Mark's mother in law, who recently divorced Mitchell, the owner of a posh chain
of restaurants, for a tidy sum of alimony.

Kate's sister, Mag, is having a nervous breakdown knowing everything
that's going on, but is slowly being poisoned with strychnine by her stepson Richard,
who himself will inherit a small fortune from several life insurance policies,
but unaware Mag removed him as beneficiary, upon learning of his gay relationship
with a bisexual cross dresser…

Now if any of this makes sense, then good for you, because it certainly doesn’t to me!

Author's Note: A parody, poking a little fun at soap operas, although I was a big fan of Dallas in the 80s.
