Reality Check, Nov. 9th, 2016

by Johnny Crimson

Makin' it fine,
drop me a line.
Sinkin' in summer,
hayseed and twine,
I'm dreaming.

Sift through the mud,
domino suds.
Steady your hands
for the calico blood.
He's purring.

Ready to go.
Simple as "No!"
It's never quite easy,
just letting go.
It's over.

Millennial minds
molded in twine;
bootstrap and leather
the new village vine.
They're coming.

Sink through the mud,
swallow the bug.
Eat from the apple
and chew up the sun.
It's nuclear.

Blow with the trees,
radiation breeze.
Nothing grows here
cept man-made disease.
It's catchy.

Dropped in my vote,
pulled up the moat.
You pulled the trigger,
the castle door closed.
He's in now.

Can't we just quit?
Guilty of it.
Fess up to the man,
renege what we did?
I'm tired now.

No way to live.
Don't tell the kids.
Maybe they're sleeping
and won't not notice it?
No future.

Head on the stump
we all got Trumped;
cept for supporters,
the blindingly dumb.
Go sleep now.

Climbin' so high
head in the sky
Left my ballot box
left it to die.
I'm better.

I'm pushing up
daises and such.
We lost a little.
I gained so much.
I'm thinking.

Creative minds
now with a chime.
These results push us,
now it's our time.
I'm speaking.

"Head of the world."
Bobble-head girls.
We're so far past you
We're makin' you twirl.
I'm me again.

Lost when you won
the damage was done,
sign on the door says
"Enter at once."
I'm cringing.

President lost.
Change at what cost?
I'm pushing past this,
If not, I'll exhaust.
I'm winning.

My spirit killed
and slowly revived.
I went from voting
to ruling the sky.
I'm back now.

Head of the weak,
died in his sleep.
Used to count money,
traded for sheep.
It's over.

Sanity's back,
look what we lacked.
All of humanity
rebelled our way back.
He's dead now.

Really enjoyed the progression here, unique images, the prophetic nature of it. Better than the silent scream I've been living with since Tuesday. Thanks, Johnny.

Reality? Does that still exist?
