It is all too easy to fall down the gaps;
To arrive at just the wrong moment
To arrive at all. It is even easier
To blame timing and ignore reality.

It is not just me and the universe:
Other people are humans too.
It is easy to ignore agency when
You don’t even realise that is something
The world conditions you to do.

The time to accept responsibility
Has arrived: to acknowledge my own
Agency as well as others’; to strive to be
The better me I could have been.
