Whoever wins the election
will be inheriting a mess
Old Glory flying at a new low
Down but not Out
as one caller described it
on a radio talk show here in Ottawa

There’s no need to list the reasons
four more years
of the same ol' same old?
albeit from a woman’s perspective
or travelling freak show
of which by now
we’re all familiar with the sordid details

Yes my stars and striped friends
as always
we here in the Great White North are watching
discussing which candidate
the lesser/greater of two evils

Cause in the end
whoever wins
will ultimately affect us too
