Sixties

by Leonard M Hawkes

It could not be—
And it is not but,
I remember:
Love that came
From nowhere,
Blooming nearly wordless,
Suffering with shame--
Breaking up the same.

But celestial sight
Is enlightenment,
Heaven’s gifts linger,
Smolder, and live on.
In music still
I feel you now,
Know your love
If only in a song.

Poignant read Leonard. Music for me also quite inspirational.
