May the Eighth by Chris Sorrenti
A beautiful day in Spring
No matter the year
Where one circle ends
A new one begins
Perfect to start something
Finish it
Or maybe a little bit of both
And when 8 and 5 are combined
Up comes 13
A sum with a checked past
For a few
Wrapped in evil - superstition
For others like myself
It tilts towards the positive
Means good luck
But in the end
A number’s no different than anything else
What you make of it
What truly counts
Much ado or nothing at all
It’s still a good day
