Brazen

by H.M Stevens

Returning from the grocery store
under the escaping sun
overwhelming red clouds brewed
ready to swallow en masse

We zipped along the highway

and at the overpass top, we paused
Put the car into park
(no one was coming anyhow)

And I popped out - quickly- turned behind
Two silent clicks
a moment seemingly ours

Now we can show everyone,
an evening sky rebels.

Definitely worth the stop.
