Sometimes I wonder...why?

do I bother to try
when I am such a failure
as a mother; a wife; a human being.
I wonder… why?
do I ever think things will change
when everything thing I have worked to accomplish
just crumbles and falls to dust at my feet.
Wonder … why?
should I continue to struggle against the flow,
when life has shown time and again
that it will only sweep me up in the current
and discard me; beaten, bruised and scarred wherever it will.
Why?
