Love Blossoms

by Kimberly Bare

I was a seedling, withering in a cold, barren landscape.
I yearned for sunshine and hope.

And then you were there.

A single beam of the brightest sunshine
I had ever known.
I squinted and hid in shadow,
not knowing how to drink it in.

I had to take tiny sips,
experiencing more and more
of your light, your tenderness, your love.

You patiently tended me,
Planting seeds of hope and
growing vines that twined
Our hearts.

I never knew the depths of
Love and Joy
that I could experience
until your ray of sunshine
caused my heart to Bloom.
