I Paint Myself in Brighter Hues

by V. Blake

she was topless in the
off-white morning light of my
cluttered little bedroom when
she requested toiletries which
didn't smell like men and
it wasn't until later that
i recognized she had not
asked out of vanity but
instead an inclination to
remain unnoticed by her
husband.

I would make her bring her own, or steal them? There is no thinking though when that morning light is casting such shadows. Here's to a better hue, and the clue.

Brilliant piece of work V. Start to finish. Powerful connecting center lines: she requested toiletries which didn't smell like men and. Straight into my favorites. :)

The spell cast of the morning after - that bright blinding light.
