You are my sunshine, my only sunshine by Jolie JordanA sad, dull ache in my chest
pounds away like a little bird in a puddle.
The ripples feel like waves,
the fluttering more of a sputtering.
The beating is a sharp feeling, though,
almost a hollowed out hole
from a constant earthquake.
It's a funny thing, slowly letting you disappear.
Understanding there is no path back,
but still dreaming of being able to go there anyway.
I'm letting go, but you have not yet left me.

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 11/03/15 at 12:31 PM it appears those wings will never cease their beating. love, the unforgettable kind, is funny that way and cruel, albeit it does not mean to be, either unforgettable or cruel, but loving and kind.
Posted by Rob Littler on 11/04/15 at 05:41 PM ...reminds me of what I heard in school from a teacher as a child, "Sometimes you have to let go to feel the hug." And by you I mean me.
Posted by Jared Orlando on 11/09/15 at 11:36 PM You have allowed us a look at a feeling, putting skin and bones around an intangible part of you. Thank you for that. Great write.
