Engagement by Richard VinceAfter years of making plans, the time
Has come for the planning to begin.
To use an oft abused phrase, it is
A labour of love: organising perfection
Is hard work, even after so many years’
Wishing and waiting.
Do all of the components,
The nuts and bolts, the fulfilment
Of long held desires, the endless hours
Facing the same way, add up to
Love?
This has been a long time coming:
The pinnacle; the zenith; the summit
That has been in sight all this time;
The thing. After this, what next?
The overture is almost over.
Soon, all that came before
Will be irrelevant; will be nothing.
This will be life: coasting
So gently down the other side
That the descent goes unnoticed.
