Coyotes II (a refrain)

by Alison McKenzie

The wisteria we never planted
Weeps chords
Recorded only in the akashic records;
A symphony meant for angels
And the stars left burning
Beyond the reach
Of all that howling.

My new favorite. There is something expansive about this piece, where symphony and cacophony marry and somehow coexist. Thank you.
