A young woman gave me the look today
You know the kind
That says hello
Without the word
Where your eyes and hers meet
For the first time
Then turn away and back again
Not wanting to offend
Appear too hungry
A subtle connection made
And though myself
Not as young or hungry as I used to be
Happily single but with an open mind
As I like to say
It felt good to receive the look
