Two Little Love Birds... by Michele SchottelkorbA once upon a time was here; we had, have, and will always, dear...
Two little love birds sitting in a tree... A kiss for you and one for me...
The clock we bought rang out of tune; I did not know, I was immune…
But when the soul cracked: my frozen heart and your broken back
...came together in a dream again; my immortal, my beloved friend.
The mission was not just too tough
The payoff was not just enough
The line between the good and bad
Never blurred, was never had
They, yes them, thought we'd destroy us
They, yes them, forgot it's we who discuss:
the Universe and all Her travesties
the Cosmos and all His casualties
the Pure Heart and all Their capacities
the Noble One and all Their noble deeds.
They will know the truth, my love
We'll prove what they’re worthy of.
