shadow/self by Sarah GeorgeStep in to the light.
Come scratch at my door
Look deep into my heart with baleful eyes
Let me thread fingers through black and silver fur
and heap kisses upon your face.
Invite me into the moonlight
And i will follow you
to the deep dark woods
Where shadows of past transgressions bleed
into the inky blackness.
Where pieces of one's soul are lost
and made whole again.
Come, I will run by your side for i see you
as you truly are
And i am unafraid.

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 11/09/15 at 06:41 PM I'm glad to have read this fine POTD. A good mix of the wild in us and how we address our different parts. I like how that simple word "fur" reinforces the wild nature. So many good lines. Strong ending. Thanks! |
