Old Red Blanket

by Chris Sorrenti

Lying together
watching TV
black leather couch
spilled with coffee
pass me the remote dear
and I’ll punch up some romance
cause the shopping's done
and we're having fun

under that old red blanket

Duplex apartment
one furnace for two
switch in the hall
we turn it up
and they turn it down
but it don't matter
cause we’re keeping warm

under that old red blanket

Friends coming over
to bring us some cheer
break out the cards
pizza and beer
but first
five more minutes

under that old red blanket

Looks kind of shabby
littered with holes
where did it come from?
well I don't know!
was in one of those boxes
when I first moved in
and now I got you

under that old red blanket

Love to trade you for the same old new new yellow blanket we're all sneezing and blowing about! But seriously this is very well done. You've made a hand me down into a treasure of memories. No small thing. Really enjoyed this.
