Dark Musing

by Chris Sorrenti

Tonight
we are restless, reflective
the naked photos
no longer feed our dreams
...reality

Even the ones of heels and toes
that secret mania
nurtured since childhood
finally put to sleep?
in a steady testosterone drip
down the years

Indulgence in a pleasure
we'd never shout out loud
expose to unpolluted sons

Dare we turn again to love?
for fear barefoot reality
rewakening the dreams
