The Question Mark In The Park

as much as we mire and mire
the question mark in the park
or was it an exclamation point!
we who are green cannot venture
to guess its shape
cloaked in myriad corpses of snow
slow cooking in the light
which eggs on our admiration
fast forward a heap of years
including the ones that leap
as find my friends and I = no longer greenly adorned
but all too rich in auburn
still daring to venture in the park
our glances drip upon this curio
this question mark
or was it an exclamatory point!
or merely a comma
something to pause
a cataclysm
or schism in the heart?
