Save the Children by Megan GuimbellotIt’s easy to say
Save the children
When they aren’t
yours
Born in broken buildings
on broken streets
in broken neighborhoods// to women broken enough to live in
a building, on a street, in a neighborhood
as sad as this.
Show me the flower you grew with no sunlight
no shade
no water, no earth, no air.
Show me the flower you grew with the expectation that
it
should
just
grow.
You’re no gardener. 02/11/2015 Posted on 02/12/2015 Copyright © 2026 Megan Guimbellot
