Late on a Winter's Sun by Alison McKenzieI am a late blossom,
Appearing one early afternoon
In the middle of an
Unusually warm winter.
I, hungry,
Waited for Sun's seduction.
But the evening fell too soon.
Frost was the only cloak
In my size,
So I wore my demise,
And never made that debut -
That old Sun,
A fickle flourish. 01/23/2015 Posted on 01/23/2015 Copyright © 2025 Alison McKenzie
