If you’ve got something on your mind
Then let it build until it’s time
Thoughts and images as butter churning
With patience and age only to thicken
And when it’s a go
Don’t hold them in where they can hurt you
With fire burning in your chest and temples
Reach for that keyboard or ball point friend
No matter how improbable at first it seems
Write those words that shout it out

Spread the flood!
Communicate!!!

Be spontaneous and walk the wild side
Inhale the wind of avant-garde
Sometimes the world nothing
But a Dali painting
There’s more to Poetry than
Roses are red Violets blue
You don’t need a university degree
To do what you have to
Take a chance and mount the stage
Swing your fists in fits of rage
You may not be here tomorrow
So say it today

Spread the flood!
Communicate!!!

If you’re feeling sad and gloom
With no one ‘round to listen to you
Then reach for those sheets of paper
Unimportant whether lined or blank
But catch those drops of inspiration
Before they evaporate
Each one’s significant
When you’ve got something new to say
Light that fuse with the black or blue
