Impression 05

by V. Blake

girls don't work the way i think:
an arrowhead for a misconception
that i've learned enough to presuppose.
(you'll ask me about my smile, twice
as though there was a space between.)
when i told you i don't write about people
i wasn't lying, but i'll run out of words
long before i can be relied upon
to draw the right conclusions.

A lot of mystery in this. I really like the bit about your smile and the space between.

A lot of irony in this I think. Some sarcasm as well maybe. I really almost see you wink as you wrote this!
