Desert Girl by Alison McKenzie
Rain falls heavy
On an Arizona roof,
Droplets dance
And wind whistles a harmony
Meant for ears not accustomed.
Applause, applause,
All for the crush of grains of sand
Swept away in the sudden deluge
That is winter in the desert.
I miss the silence paid for by Snow,
Though I must admit,
This Thunder moves me.

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 12/13/14 at 12:57 PM I love the implication and insinuation of that last stanza. Snow making payment, using Silence as currency. This ode moves me, as thunder would the Bard. |
