Viva En Gerundio (live your life in gerunds)

by June Labyzon

I dream a dream
standing
feet planted firmly in the sea
swirling around my being
I am dry.
The waves past bowing
reverently as they rise
and
fall….

I stand
defying
the sea, the wind, the universe
pushing against the force of the waves.
I begin small movements towards
the when, continual, deliberate.
The once a cool wind merging
with the salt of the sea,
blowing gently towards the
now
and
when.

Arms spread, open wide, long ribboned
fingers beckoning,
pulling
all that was
all that is
all that will be

Into the ocean
fusion of color
fusion of taste
fusion of scent

No longer I dream, no longer stilled
I spring in the now towards the
when in the sea of the once.
"viva en gerundio"

Swiftly joined by those who
live the movements
paint the colors
savor the tastes and scents

We form a circle in the sea
of thousands of yous and mes
A circle of life across the sea
faces of nows, whens and onces
I dream a dream
"viva en gerundio"

this is easily Poem Of The Day, of the Week, even. Now to convince the powers that be, that it should be so heralded.
