I Fear Autumn Will Not Take A Rain Check

by Philip F De Pinto

Arrived autumn in my neck of the wood
And with the sun at its back
It's shadow is the compass
I follow faithfully behind
As leads me toward trees rehearsing
Their nude scenes and soon
The wood will be tagged with
An X rating in which a juvenile
Will not be permitted to meander through
Without the accompanying adult

Arrived autumn in my neck of the wood
And the trees all bark and bare
As dare a moon in the round
To reveal there are more private parts
Scattered on the ground
Than there are leaves
In all the world
To hide behind

Arrived at autumn in just the same way, with winter looming oh much too close, when again I will be able with abandonment to recreate those nude scenes juvenile's eyes must not see, and all they can do is say: "She's a crazy one, that one." I loved these words so much....inspirational. Thanks, Sir Philip...

Do I see in all of this the aging process when the sensual fails (as leaves fall) leaving one vulnerable and exposed?
