One Pill Makes You Larger....

by Britt Zimmerman

I added another pill to my daily routine,
Hoping to quiet the beasts inside

It's like a constant battle and it's fought in the deepest of night...
Where no one sees your struggle and
No one, well no one revels in your victories either.

...it's just you, and your demons
One pulls you this way and the other pulls back, and sometimes...
Sometimes all you are is a rag doll
Nothing but buttons for eyes
And a sewn in smile because anything else is confusing to other people and anything else...
Well anything else devours your soul.

Sometimes...
You are voracious,
Swallowing every last breath of fresh air
Every ounce of beauty in the world
Because your hoping to store it up for those times that the emptiness sets in...
The times where your insides are churning and searching for something that you've never quite been able to put your finger on. But you know it's there.
..it has to be there right?

Because if it's not, well then...
Then your just another faceless soul
Lost in a world of your own, and those are the type of people they lock up
Those are the people who have lost their grip on reality...the one's who have slipped
into a never ending state of psycho babble and padded cells

I added another pill today and I'm hoping that when I swallow it...
that it will take up residence in the pit of my stomach...
Because that is the place where my demons hit the hardest.

I'm hoping that it will ease the ache that resonates in the hollows of my rib cage
And blossom there like a good strong oak or maybe rise like a mountain within me and make me strong again...

I added another pill to my daily routine...

This is really a strong piece describing your difficult two states of mind (assuming this is about you). It's just vivid. I hope the pill helps.
