Two Rings

by Manas Moksha

On the morning of a blood moon
I bring you a story of two

Two roads
two paths
two choices
two travelers

Each step –
punctuation for a story
of two voices

May our spirits
continue
to encircle each other

in parallel streams --
nurture joy –
nothing less –
nothing more –

I have always been moved by the number two. I find it is perfectly symmetrical and musical and the one that makes the most sense as it concerns humans and offers the greatest possibility for love. reading this ode leaves me with a feeling of tranquility and hope.

The first line drew me totally in...I love poems with numbers, two can be a great number, but in lieu of two, one can be the best number of all.
