Sweet Revenge by Chris Sorrenti
I was standing in line at the express cash today
And started to put my stuff through
Almost the full sixteen items allowable
Thirteen actually – I counted them
Just then
A well dressed man with only one item gets in line behind me
His cell phone goes off
And he proceeds to answer it
A few moments after
Another guy gets in line behind him
Turns out an old friend from my neighbourhood
Who I haven’t seen in months
He gets my attention
And we proceed to have a conversation
With the man still talking on his phone
Between us
My friend and I are trying to converse above the guy’s voice
So we can hear one another
And as a result
He is having trouble focusing on his own conversation
And judging by his expression
Clearly annoyed by us

Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 09/21/14 at 12:00 AM LOL!! I usually leave mine in the car or turn it off. I just do not understand why people have to be on that cell phone anywhere they are. |
Posted by Laura Doom on 09/21/14 at 10:37 AM I was present at the conclusion of the London Tour de France stage--couldn't see the 'live' action through the cloud of mobiles & tablets. If it's not present on a device for future online exhibition, it never happened... |
