Venus, Mars, And Everything In-between by Chris Sorrenti
Venus
goddess of love and beauty
planetary namesake
clouded in mystery
yet to those who worship her
the creative force that sustains all life
christened by astronomers
with a circle and cross
Mars
god of war
cruel and destructive
namesake planet - fiery red
face clearly marked with lines
and shell holes of past defeats
though some still openly worship him
christened by astronomers
with a circle and arrow
And between them - a child
planet Earth
eternally under their influence
