falling

by Gail Wolper

I lost you

somewhere in the bare face

of the rock of the cliff

below the highest peak of the mountain

so many things learned

so many things explained

each more interesting

than the last

but somewhere in

that rock face

you disappeared and I

pushed and I pushed but

for me it would not

budge

Interesting poem Gail. I like how it can be taken either at face value (pardon the pun) or metaphorically.

This to me is about overcoming difficulty, and how we can't always do it alone. It's a wonderful metaphor and written so well.
