Waiting for the Oven to Warm

upon the stove
a dial that brings
warm from cold
my meat must be
cooked at the temperature
recommended
never think outside the beef box
experiment with vegetables,
you can't hurt their feelings.
If the day had hands
a lot of keyboards and tv remotes and game controllers
would be slapped out of a lot of complacent paws
I feel like it would look out for us
My cat knows only one song
and I never get tired of it
