I Just Want My Peace

by Thomas K. Hunt

Some people fight for freedom
You just fight to fight
Don't come looking for me
Cause I won't fight tonight
You keep all your secrets
You bottle them inside
Use them for ammunition
When you feel the time to confide
Flaming arrows penetrate my heart
A constant barrage right from the start
No place to run
There's no place to hide
You have so many deep down inside

I used to be a fighter
Now there's no reason to fight
I just want my peace
I want peace and comfort
I want it every night

You're always looking for trouble
It seems to be in your blood
You're only happy in my face
Smearing it with your mud
You cut real deep
Inflict so much pain
Stay away from me
I'm not that insane
So don't come looking for me tonight
I'm never going to change
I won't fight you any night
You're too much of a pain

I used to be a fighter
Now there's no reason to fight
I just want my peace
I want peace and comfort
I want it every night

I don't want you beside me
I don't need you in my ear
I want my peace of mind
I don't have it with you here
We've spoken our last words
There's no need to come around
I won't fight with you tonight
I won't make a sound

Yes some people fight for freedom
You just fight to fight
I'm always wrong
You're always right
You love to scream and shout
You love to make a scene
Leave me out of the picture
I won't fight you anymore
You're just too dam mean

I don't want to see your face
I know where that will lead
Find yourself someone else
Cut him until he bleeds
You're an instigator that I just don't need
You're the one that I never want to see
So don't come looking for me tonight
You've had your last fight with me

I used to be a fighter
Now there's no reason to fight
I just want my peace and comfort
I want it every night
