Thank-you Seriously Thank-you by Chris Sorrenti
Thank you for having me pick you up
coming to my party
Thank you for drinking all my booze
not bringing any
Thank you for playing my stereo
picking out albums no one wanted to hear
Thank you for the fine conversation
ridiculing me before family and friends
Thank you for eating all my food
not helping with the dishes
Thank you for staying till three in the morning
having me drive you home
Thank you seriously thank you again
but please don't ever come back!!!

04/11/2014 Author's Note: My ex’ and I threw a Grey Cup (Canadian Football) party one time. Her girlfriend’s boyfriend was Irish, and so he and two of his buddies, also from Ireland, were invited. As the poem suggests, they ended up being more trouble than company, and clearly not all that interested in the game. As the afternoon progressed, they became steadily drunker and obnoxious, and though not dangerous, in the process, few of us got to see much of the game. On a different note, I'm back to playing with HTML codes, as this poem employs some indentation, and different font style and size. Again, this is due to the WYSIWYG editor no longer working here. :/
