four Spring haiku by Jim Benz
early spring
the neighborhood crows
have found a carcass
cars in the ditch
because of the wind
Nebraska freeway
a woodpecker
chipping ice off the suet
April snow
Winter's end--
shoveling the steps
in my flip flops

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 04/14/14 at 11:10 PM Ahhh...the ubiquitous crows...and sea gulls, even though I live far inland. I witnessed this very thing the other day, and saw my first robin today. Happy spring, Jim. |
